Biodegradation: Solving The Plastic Problem
Reducing the cost of making plastic bags or plastic products has contributed greatly to the mass production of plastic bags. This has been a challenge as a waste for years after the product is used and disposed of in the environment. It is not difficult to see plastic products everywhere because the materials used to make such containers or bags cannot be broken down naturally.
However, it should be noted that inorganic products do not allow microorganisms to work through the material to break down. These microorganisms are expected to be able to break down the product into particles or components that can dissolve in the environment. Most of the organic products are made from plastic, which is non-polluting and renewable. This means that the biodegradable bags can be recycled for other purposes or dissolved in the environment without damaging the environment.

The most commonly used plastics around the world are those made from polyethylene. However, this is not the only type of plastic available. Polyethylene is known to make products such as plastic food bags and certain types of drinking bottles. Other ingredients such as vegetable oils and vegetable starches are also used in the manufacture of plastic products. Such plastic products are considered organic in the sense that they are naturally soluble and harmless to them.
Plastic products, especially those made from petroleum materials, have not been disposed of properly. Over time, this problem or challenge has been resolved with the discovery of biodegradable products. The materials used to make such plastic products can be broken down by enzymes and thus returned to nature. The main purpose of making biodegradable plastics is to ward off polyethylene-based plastics from the environment.
