Before Your Treatment
Before you go for the first laser hair removal session, you do want to shave the area about 2 days before. The laser laser hair removal clinician suggests that you don't want to arrive with long hairs. There is a tiny amount of pain, so some patients are proscribed a topical aesthetic, especially in sensitive areas such as the bikini line.
The First Treatment
During the first treatment of laser hair removal, you are going to feel a little sting from the laser. The sting or pain is reduced by the anesthetic, so no need to be too concerned about it.
What happens during the treatment is that the hair follicle and what's called the bulge, where new hairs grow from is being destroyed by the laser. One session will usually last about 10 to 20 minutes.
After The Treatment
Immediately after laser hair removal, you will have a little reddish skin and a tiny amount of swelling around the hair follicles.
About 2 weeks after the first treatment, you will notice that the hairs fall out. Hair will grow back, but not as much, but there will still be hair. This is why you need to do multiple sessions. This will help to eliminate all the hair from growing back. Usually, the success rate is 90% to 95% in hair elimination.
Make sure to be gentle to the area and stay out of the sun. Ask any questions you have to the clinician as they will be more than happy to assist you.
